Tampa Daily: Progress Village Boy Found in Pond

A five year old boy who was reported missing from his Progress Village home was found in a retention pond and later pronounced dead. Hillsborough County deputies say the child's parents called 9 in the morning to report him missing, and he was taken to AdventHealth before being pronounced dead; the sheriff's office says the incident is under investigation. Our thoughts are with the family. Now here is Chloe with the forecast. In other local news, sunny, breezy, high near 80, low 66 and a pleasant breeze. Northeast winds 14 to 17 with gusts to 28; mostly clear tonight. Now let us check in with Lena. And if you are heading out, Hamilton opens at Straz Center's Carol Morsani Hall on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 7:30 in the evening. I'm live at the plaza.
